What do u thnk ,which one was a better film? Was TZP that bad that it couldn't make even to the top 9 in foreign films or there's a different yardstick for judging indian films and would the same yardstick be used if boyle had not directed slumdog rather an indian chap had?????And why are we happy for slumdog, just because it has an indian connection!!(apart from rahman).doesn't the word slumdog sound derogatory??

First n foremost i wud like to answer that y r we happy about Slumdog??Maybe i'm wrong but i think itz human nature to look for his/her(see i am not a male chauvinist :D)connection with sumthing famous n successful. As TZP cudnt do well n slumdog did, watsoever be the yardstick, indian mass is trying to have some link up wid slumdog n dats expected from us.
Now which muvi is better?? Itz said dat each individual has a different taste(many ppl think dat way,no offence)but i feel gng by any means, choosing any yardstick....TZP is far better dan Slumdog but it doesn't mean dat slumdog isnt gud.......So all in all i mean is that if u can do sumthing den fi9..bring the change n if u cant den look for a reason in everything to be happy coz a/c me dats what we(atleast I) want....TO BE HAPPY :)
My first reaction after watching TZP was that its a good movie, but it missed something. There was a typical 'bollywood' touch that I disliked. For example I felt that the ending is too perfect. Ishaan is shown to recover too quickly just after Aamir Khan starts helping him. Soon he becomes the topper at school. This part I didn't like, because I think this shift was covered too quickly in the movie. I think too much happy picture was presented in the movie to appeal to the audience. On the other hand, Slumdog seemed perfect.
i think the way of presentation of an idea (not the idea itself) captures more of an attention (especially those oscars). in slumdog millionare, lyf of people of slum areas was highlighted (their ideoology and people surrounding that environment beautifully thru each question posed which had unique 1-1 correspondence to events and finally the last question showing how they are very much fearless of any consequence just playing out their luck) in a fashion very much near to heart of people thru the gameshow which had been famous all over the world (different versions of show in different countries) and thus a near perfect blend of different flavours.
TZP was an equally gud movie though i very much agree with sid's point (abt bollywood touch). though the idea was excellent but if u do not flavour that idea wid some surprising element(i m not talking abt plot of the movie but its presentation), it would remain a movie wid a gud idea not a gud "movie" itself.
and i think thatz whr the difference is thr between bolly and hollywood movies. we tend to rely on idea not much on x-factor whr we lag behind.

well from my point of view there shouldnt arise a question like this because a movie is a source of entertainment ... whatever it shows is a part of this world only so it has to coincide wid some1's story or some place's story. So just enjoy the movie guys, both these movies are milestones at their places, enjoy them to the full....
