I have been considering a question for past few days now...
I locked my cycle before going home in Dussehra vacations in my first year. And I lost the key. And I took me a complete year to get the lock broken. I did it when I came back from the summer vacations. Till then, I used to go to cycle stand to make sure that my cycle was there. I am sure, you too connect to the question. Why are we so lazy when it comes to trivial things? Why it takes more than 2 months to get the cycle back from SIS? Why it takes a whole semester to get a puncture in cycle fixed? Why it takes 20 days just to buy a phone?
And I have observed that this is the problem is mostly associated with intelligent people or better say, people good at studies. Such incidences are more common here, than at my home. What do you think? Any psychologists there?

Nainital Trip discussion blog...........

So , finally a mutual agreement on a much awaited outing for "EGOMANIACS".

This is the first time entire wing is having outing together. Each one of us would hav certain expections out of the trip, so please share it with all of us

Tommorow's leaders lacking civic sense..

it is very disheartening that i am forced to write this post,sorry but i had to.For a last few days/months it has been observed that people of our wing like TK and sanchit (no offense) dont even care to switch off lights of their room or even switch off their music system on leaving the room.How much time does it take to just press a pause button or to swtich off the lights.
Save Energy!!! it reflects ur attitude and responsibility towards society...whenever i wake up and see corridor lights switched on..i always care to put them off.
A humble request to all:

please switch off lights/music systems whenever u leave the room...save energy whenever possible....be a responsible citizen!!

I think i m starting to feel the xam fever. So i hav a proper idea of releiving of your frustation.

World is not so simple after all

Hi all,
Ever wondered what the Movie "Butterfly Effect" was all about? What is the famous Butterfly Effect, Golu was so excited about?
Ever wondered why scientists fail to accurately predict weather even in this modern age where they can get all sort of data? After all, all the physical equations governing the movement of air particles are known.
Great mathematician Laplace, excited by phenomenal sucess of Newton's Laws, said that (in 1776) "given the initial position and velocity of each particle in the universe, a mathematician could predict the past and future of universe". Apply this to human nature and it says that everything you do can be determined. Free will simply doesnt exist. What do you think?
Ever wondered why the population of these insects suddenly decreases and again becomes thousand times? From where do these grasshoppers come who eat away thousands of acres of fields and then disappear? How much pesticide to use against them?
Answers to all these questions is "chaos". And what is this chaos? Lets gather a night and I will introduce you all to this burning hot topic. This is area that touches almost all desciplines.... electrical, computer science, chemical, biology, philosophy and its heart lies in physics. I seriously plan to do a semester project next sem on it, preferably an interdesciplinary project. So you all are invited.

the life i desire....

please share ur views on the kind of life you desire....not all of us might have thought abt it deeply...but just sit for sometime and think what u want to do in life and the kind of life u desire...

Some members of our wing have developed a new passion. Every night, after dinner, their senses grow dim (hope you all understood, what I am talking about). They immediately feel an urge to go for a walk. The walk ends up at MT. They buy sutta and go up in smoke, riding on a worthless high.
All these bastards know the hazards. One of them promises everyday to quit. While another had promised to quit in december. They not only smoke on roads, bring it into their rooms also. They smoke in their rooms, making it impossible to sit in their rooms.
None of them is going to quit smoking. But being wing members, it is our responsibility to make them quit. I propose that we all should strongly condemn their addiction and a gpl should be taken, when anyone is caught smoking. Join my hands in this anti-smoking campaign.

Hall Allocation Policy

There has been a lot of debate over the hall allocation policy adopted this year. Hall 2 went for a luck draw to decide the hall allocation. While our HEC gave preference to people 'considered' to be active during hall activities. This led to some people from our wing being left in hall 3.
So what everyone thinks about the the policy adopted? Which policy was better, lucky draw or the policy adopted by our HEC?
For me it is a difficult question to answer. But if asked to vote, I would go for policy adopted by our HEC.

First Birthday Bash

19th Nov,06 was our first birthday celebration. Earlier birthdays used to be quite quiet. Just a small round of gpl and a small treat in disappointing hall 3 canteen was all we went for.
At 12 0'clock we took Arpan out of his room and took a small gpl. Not many had gathered for the gpl. Arpan started crying from the first kick. There was just one round. (We considered Arpan too fragile for a proper gpl but that turned out to be wrong guess next year). I wanted one more round but just then Ashwini arrived to congratulate him. And we stopped. We were still a bit hesistant before seniors.
Then we set up the speaker and music player. I had bought speaker keeping in mind the birthday. Rahul had the music player. Everyone started dancing. But only Saurav seemed to know a few steps. Rest others were just throwing their arms and legs everywhere. As far I remember, it was for the first time I tried to dance. I tried to stay away from Sanchit for obvious reasons. Arpan was totally lost in his awkward steps. There were some very intresting poses like Arpan lying in his bed and Shashank bending over him, both dancing. Soon the room was too hot and we threw away our shirts. Towards the end, people from other wings also came, willing to join us.
In the end Sanchit brought Sumit's camera and we took our first group photo shoot. Some pics were very nice. Few are attached.
It was for the first time we celebrated our stay together and as far as I am concerned, most memorable one.....Later people from other wings came for our speakers to celebrate their birthdays our way. And all that was just 3-4 days away from end sems.

Prologue

1st of August 2k8 :-
Exactly two years back from this day we all stepped out of our individuality and became a WING.We freshers totally unknown to each other met at a new place, which later turned out to be our second HOME.The place was 3 Top Hall 3 [probably the wing with the best view :)] where we formed the bond which we cherish today.After a year we moved to 1 Bot Hall 3 [certainly the wing with the worst view :D] where we emerged as the OLYMPUS WINNER (Hall 3's sports fest).
Now today in F Bot Hall 9 when we look back at those two beautiful years we say with pride that we are the best wing.We spend so much time together- be it playing, watching muvies, pulling on pranks, birthday celebrations, studying for exams or discussing on topics ranging from girls ...errrr rather lack of girls at IITK :D to the Indo-Us Nuke deal.
So today we came up with the idea of sharing our naughty,fun-filled moments through this blog.We will be pleased to have Reader comments :)
